MJ, Finals, and Frivolous Want

Hello there, my pretty little blog and its pretty little readers.

This past Friday was the Dance P.E. recital at my school. It was a Michael Jackson tribute. I had a blast! Although I never really enjoy the class, the night of the show almost entirely made up for it all. My class danced to "PYT" in the first act, and "Rock With You" in the second. For "PYT," we wore our normal black dance clothes, plus a red tank top that we had the option of decorating. I put rhinestones on my, spelling out "PYT" on the front and "MARY" on the back. For "Rock With You," we wore these funny black, white, and pink spotted halter tops and shiny reddish-pink pants. My family sent me a cute little teddy bear backstage, and I think I did pretty well- considering I'm, you know, an art major. Most of the girls in my class are performing majors and know the stage and theater super well. (Dance, drama, choir, etc.)

Moving on. Finals are this week! Hooray! Could you detect the sarcasm there? Didn't think so. My schedule for the week is like this...
  • Monday: Visual Design I (Art) and Ceramics I exams
  • Tuesday (Half Day): Visual Design I (Art) and Freshman Studies exams
  • Wednesday (Half Day): Biology I Honors and English I Honors exams
  • Thursday (Half Day): Dance P.E. I and Geometry Honors exams
  • Friday: No School! Staff development day! Woohoo!!
Well, things kind of suck now. I'm really kind of nervous for the next two days, because now that all my easy exams are over, I have all the difficult ones. Oh God, just typing about them is giving me a stomach ache. Whenever I'm nervous or upset, the only part of me that seems to respond is my stomach. Owowowowwww. Change of subject time.

Hey, you know what's a good anime/manga series? Hidamari Sketch. It's about a group of four young girls living on their own in Hidamari (Japanese for "sunshine") Apartments. The building is right across from their high school, an art academy! But not like LVA, it's just visual arts. But mostly, the series is about the funny things that happen to them at the apartments. It has an adorable drawing style. Plus, the format of the books is cool, too- it's seperated into four or five panel vertical comic strips, two to a page.

I was just thinking of the series today in art class, that's all. I actually learned a couple things from reading that manga. Did you know that you can erase charcoal with bread? Yeah, neither did I.

Oh, one last thing- if you read this post, you know that I absolutely adore the Professor Layton DS game series. Well, I happened upon something amazing on ebay... Shown in this here picture. It's 14" tall, $20.00... And I kind of really want it. "What are you, Mary, five?" Shut up, okay. Think whatever you want of me. But this is one of the most adorable things since puppies were invented. Yeah. I said it.

I should probably go. Study. Things... (And by "study," I of course mean play Professor Layton until my face turns blue.) (But don't worry. I'll study later. Probably...) Bye!

Photo 1: Michael Jackson getting down with his bad self. Photo 2: Ugh. Exams are horrible, aren't they? Photo 3: The adorable characters of the anime/manga series, Hidamari Sketch. Photo 4: Professor Layton plushie. Want...

So true, so true. I mean, just look at his little tophat, and his little shoes! I'm buying it with my birthday money. If it were $50, I still probably would. XD
