It Doesn't Grow on Trees

As with most events in my life, I cannot properly discuss this without mentioning art.

The art department at my school does a yearly trip, apparently... To Europe, to see some of the great art of the world. They have been to many different locations throughout Europe, and this time, they chose a trip package that the travel company calls "A Tale of Two Cities." It goes to London and Paris, each for four days. You go to all the famous art museums there, including Paris' famous Louvre and the National Gallery in London. (There are also a few extra stops at famous landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, London's Buckingham Palace, and Paris' Pere la Chaise cemetery: final resting place of many famous artists and such, including the amazing Polish composer Frédéric Chopin.) The trip is during spring break of 2011.

Now, as I'm sure you can imagine, I really want to go. I would give an arm and a leg. Unfortunately, I don't think an arm and a leg would cover the whole $4,000 cost of the trip.

For this reason, I know I probably won't be able to go on the trip. It is terribly expensive, and you know what they say: money doesn't grow on trees. The thing is, though, next year will most likely be Ms Treat's (my art teacher and the trip organizer) last year teaching, so this will probably also be the art department's last trip to Europe... So it's not as if I can just save up the money and go in my senior year.

Well, I'm going to be (hopefully) getting a job when I turn 16, and I'm trying to think of other ways to produce funds until then... But, we'll just have to see how everything goes. If it turns out that I can't get a decent amount of money by the deadline, I don't want to bankrupt my family just so that I can have a week of amazement. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see. Que será será, and whatnot.

In other not-so-exciting news, it's starting to get pretty hot here in Vegas, I'm bored out of my mind, and my hair seems to be getting wavier every day. I went to Party City today just for fun, and I bought a bunch of silly little things, including Batman and Iron man masks. I love Party City; it's just full of fun, random little things.

I don't really have anything else that interesting to tell. I'm going to be posting more movie reviews soon, just for the record.

Well, that's it. Later.
