Movie Review- The Princess and the Frog, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Interview with the Vampire, Fantastic Mr. Fox

So, I've been doing quite a few trips to Blockbuster. Here are some reviews for a few movies I've seen lately.

The Princess and the Frog (12.11.09) *****
Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Oprah Winfrey
This was a pretty cute movie. As many have pointed out before, Disney hasn't been coming out with many films lately that follow its musical, animated tradition. This is a new twist on the classic fairytale, and I liked it! It was fun and entertaining, and the music was certainly good. The protagonists were likable, and the voice actors did a very good job. Overall, I loved it, and I certainly wouldn't mind buying the DVD to watch it again!

The Men Who Stare at Goats (11.06.09) ***
George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, Goat
This movie was... Interesting. I liked the idea of its plot about psychic warriors in the military. However, the plot wasn't exactly what I thought it was from watching the trailers, it wasn't terribly action-packed or exciting, and it was a bit anticlimactic. All this aside, it was also very funny, and it's unique; it isn't quite like other movies lately. I liked it, but it's not one of those movies that I'll consider a classic in five or ten years.

Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (11.11.94) ****
Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, Antonio Baderas, Christian Slater, Stephen Rea
This movie was pretty good. During the first 30 or 45 minutes or so, I thought it was really strange... But then, as things progressed, it started to make sense, and then I liked it. It's interesting; it's sad, scary, and touching, all at the same time. I think all the actors did a good job, especially Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst (she was so little). The ending was a bit strange, though, but I won't go into detail for those of you who passionately hate spoilers. Overall, I liked it.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (11.25.09) *****
George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman
I loved this movie! It wasn't just another stupid, "lets entertain the little kids" kind of movie. In fact, I think teenagers and adults would like this movie more than the little kids would. It's an interesting concept, and the puppets were so amazing and animated! If you have a Blu-Ray player, you should definitely watch this movie on it, because the art and puppets areso well-made and detailed that  they're even more breath-taking in HD. The voice actors all did really good jobs. Another thing I loved about this movie was the soundtrack, which had really unique music.
